Rodger Sykes

Rodger Sykes, President & CEO

Rodger Sykes joined MMIC Solutions in March 2006, having been a founder and CEO at SiConnect Ltd, and President and CEO at picoChip. Over his 26 year career in technology he has held senior management positions in the USA with Texas Instruments and Philips Semiconductors, and also with LogicVision Inc up to and through their IPO. Rodger has a PhD. in Device Physics and a BSc. in Electronics & Applied Physics from the University of Durham, UK.

Douglas DundonaldDouglas Dundonald, Chairman

Douglas Dundonald is a founder of MMIC Solutions, and a number of other technology companies. Douglas has been an investor and director of (UK and Australia) quoted public companies, and over the last 15 years specialised in building innovative technology companies. In recent years he has served as an executive main board director, and co-founded Anglo Scientific.

John McNicolJohn McNicol, Director of Business Development & Marketing

John McNicol joined MMIC Solutions in 2007, having assisted numerous technology start-ups as a consultant and advisor. John’s experience in microelectronics spans more than 20 years, includes marketing and business development roles focused on wireless and microwave applications. John has a BSc. in Physics from the University of Nottingham, UK, and researched in compound semiconductor physics. He also has a Masters in Business Administration from the UK’s Open University.

Mark BlackMark Black, Director of Operations

Mark Black has more than 12 years experience in all aspects of microwave integrated circuit (MIC) processing and assembly, specialising in transferring research and prototypes into production. Most recently he established QinetiQ’s manufacturing facility for microwave and millimeter wave modules. Mark has qualifications in production engineering and management, and was responsible for assembly of RF components and modules across three sites for Filtronic and at GEC Marconi’s microwave hybrid assembly unit at Caswell, UK.

Paul RicePaul Rice, Development and Engineering Manager

Dr. Paul Rice joined MMIC Solutions in 2006. Previously Paul worked as a MMIC design consultant for major European Defence companies designing a range of circuits including broad bandwidth high power amplifiers and oscillator circuits for "Last Mile" wireless access. Paul graduated with a PhD in microwave engineering from the University of Manchester having researched gallium nitride low phase noise signal sources in collaboration with QinetiQ, Malvern. His publications include the lowest phase noise performance of a gallium nitride based oscillator in the literature.
