High Bandwidth Communications

The need for bandwidth has increased nearly ten-fold with the greater use of video-rich and interactive applications on computers and on cellular phones. This exponential growth in demand is a real challenge for operators of networks, both private and public. High capacity wireless is the solution, using millimeter wave bandwidth to provide 1 gigabit per second to extend organizations’ GigE networks and mobile operators’ backhaul capacity.

MMIC Solutions’ technology enables high levels of integration of radio functions at frequencies as high as 86GHz with supporting electronics, using high performance and low cost materials and module construction.

MSx600 Series

The MSx600 modules enable a 1Gbit/sec full duplex (in both directions simultaneously) link to be constructed within the US unlicensed V-band between 57 and 64GHz. Developed around a frequency division duplex (FDD) architecture the 6 modules in the series include down-convertors (LNA & mixer), frequency multipliers (suitable for generating millimeter wave local oscillator signals), and fully integrated receivers for both hi-band and lo-band radios. The module’s softboard construction provides significant reductions in size, weight, and cost, and they have industry standard WR-15 waveguide mechanical interfaces to suit diplexers and dish antennas.
